Copyright Complaints
Raising a claim that material published on Roesas infringes a copyright you own or represent.
The status of this process
Roesas has not designated an agent with the United States Copyright Office to receive notifications of claimed infringement, and does not represent that it has. This page is informational: it is not a designated-agent address, and submitting a complaint through it does not begin a statutory notice-and-takedown process.
Roesas would rather say this plainly than publish an address labelled “designated agent” that is not one. The requirements for that designation are being worked through with counsel; this page will say so when it changes.
Copyright, or impersonation?
These are different claims and Roesas keeps them apart, because they ask for different things and carry different consequences for getting them wrong.
- A copyright complaint — this page
- You own the copyright in the material, or you are authorised to act for whoever does, and it has been published here without permission. This is an assertion of ownership.
- A fake-photograph or impersonation report
- A photograph shows you, or somebody you recognise, or does not show the advertiser at all. This is a concern about identity and misrepresentation, and it does not require you to own anything. Report fake photographs.
What a copyright complaint needs to contain
Roesas needs all of the following in order to act on a complaint. This is what a complete notice of claimed infringement ordinarily carries; providing it does not, on its own, begin a statutory process, for the reason given above.
- Identification of the copyrighted work you say has been infringed.
- The Roesas web address of the material you are complaining about, precise enough for Roesas to find it.
- Your name, and an address, telephone number and email address at which you can be reached.
- A statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement that the information in your complaint is accurate, and that you are the copyright owner or are authorised to act on the owner's behalf.
- Your physical or electronic signature.
Do not claim ownership of material you do not own or are not authorised to act for. A knowingly false claim of infringement can carry legal consequences for the person who makes it.
Where to send it
Write to Roesas Operations LLC at roesas.ad.services@gmail.com, with “Copyright complaint” in the subject line and the items above in the message. This is the platform’s legal contact address; it is not a designated agent address and it is not customer support.
A copyright complaint sent to Roesas is read by a person and the material is reviewed against the Advertising & Content Rules and the Acceptable Use policy, which already prohibit publishing content an advertiser has no right to publish. Roesas cannot promise a particular outcome and does not decide who owns a copyright.
The Advertising & Content Rules and the Acceptable Use policy already require an advertiser to hold the rights to everything they publish here, and to hold a release for any other person shown in it.
